Of course we have had a stomache bug going around our family since post op day #1. I was hit with it last night. That's where the shitastic comes in. Luckily, I have a fridge full of anti-emetics, which helped me get through the night. I did go into work for an hour this morning, and I actually felt pretty good. Now I'm just feeling like I was hit by a truck. I'm also trying to space out my pain meds. I guess the point is, I'm not as much of a happy camper as I was yesterday.
I'm posting a picture of my dressings, without my binder. My abdomen is really very swollen. It's frustrating because I have surgery weight on, and even though everything is flat, I still feel fat. I know it will go away, but I'm enjoying my pity party. Don't even try to talk me out of it. :)
Happy Friday, I'm going to bed.
Wow....those photos are amazing. Hope you feel better soon and thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are totally my hero.. I am amazed everytime I look at your pictures.. you are giving us all such an education.. I hope you and your family are feeling better.. and that each day gets easier for you.. be well
ReplyDeleteBB, those photos are so GNARLY!! Only an O.R. person would have those. I love it!! You already look fab! I hope the healing process goes well.
ReplyDeleteOMG Did I miss this???? I am looking at great wads of tummy and I was eating brekkie ...glurk lol. I'm going to have to go back now and check it all out. You had the tummy done? I didn't realise you were doing it RIGHT NOW! I thought it was weeks and weeks away. I hope you're doing ok (apart from shitting through the eye of a needle.. fun.. NOT!)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard for me to comment, because I have to scroll down and I'm next to the pan full of your tummy, oooo I have a bit of a week stomach when it comes to that so I have to type with my eyes closed and hope for the best! Anyhoo, I hope you are feeling better really soon. My dear friend had a tummy tuck and they used her tummy to reconstruct breasts for her after her mastectomy. She was not a candidate for implants because of scar tissue. She's doing beautifully now and looks great. She felt great after, and like you a few days after surgery was pretty rough, I think from just doing too much. So rest and hydrate and I guess stay real close to the pooper! Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh crap! Sorry, I couldn't resist. Hopefully you are not vomitting though. I think that would be worse. Tummy looks great but gross if you know what I mean!
ReplyDeleteIt's okay sweetie - some of your feeling crappy is mentally coming out of being put under and recovering from a surgery. Many TT'ers go through a down time mentally right after surgery. Swelling is WAY normal....and remember - any swelling is still better than hanging skin right? On days like this you have to look at your pre-op photos....you did the right thing and you won't regret it - I promise. Smooches - I love you!
ReplyDeleteOh and get that CG binder back on! Never ever take it off - except to shower! Those are orders. HA!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's like the worst possible thing that could happen. You literally shocked me with that, and with your photos. Those might need a warning or something. Did you take those or did someone with the hospital? Crazy! I'm glad the surgery itself went well and that you're able to cope with this little hiccup!
ReplyDeleteTake it slow lady. I hope you avoid the stomach bug.
